PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Management Responsibility for the business processes and systems required for the Gas High Volume Transportation Choice program including the programs, systems and interfaces utilized by Gas Supply and the Gas Choice Programs.  The position will be responsible for reporting, JEs and timely payment of invoices associated with regulated natural gas purchases. The position will support the role of PECO’s Gas Supply Department in representing the interest of the Company in Federal Energy Regulatory Committee proceedings and interstate pipeline negotiations.  The position will also support PECO’s participation in state gas regulatory proceedings. Position will be responsible for identifying and meeting team goals and attainment of core competencies for the team.    

Note: Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24x7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage the daily and monthly operations of the HVT and LVT programs, including, nominations, confirmations, daily load, monthly closes. Act as liaison for the program with Choice Suppliers and other stakeholders.  (30%)
  • Manage the programs, systems and interfaces utilized by Gas Supply and the Gas Choice Programs, implement changes, and strategically plan for long term requirements. (20%)
  • Manage all reporting, JEs and timely payment of invoices associated with regulated natural gas purchases and insuring accurate and monthly close process. (20%)
  • Provide analyses and develop positions supporting the Company’s interest in Federal Energy Regulatory proceedings, interstate pipeline negotiations and state level gas regulatory proceedings. (20%)
  • Fosters development and coaching for employees and provides timely feedback regarding group and individual performance. (10%)

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  1. Significant knowledge of processes and functions of the wholesale gas market. 
  2. Significant experience in gas Choice programs and Gas Transmission Tariffs and operations.
  3. Knowledge of regulatory and strategic issues associated with gas utility industry and specifically PECO’s two gas choice functions and processes.
  4. Strong preference for technical background, financial aptitude, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent communication skills.
  5. Specialized skills in negotiating, leadership, planning, and decision making.  Proven skills in managing change, influencing regulatory rulemakings, and implementing new technologies.
  6. Demonstrated strength in Exelon leadership fundamentals and core Competencies.

 

JOB SCOPE

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Gas High and Low Volume Transportation programs and associated systems the monthly gas cost accounting process.  Develop and support the Company’s position in state and Federal Energy Regulatory proceedings.  Fostering, developing, and supporting employees. Work is diversified and complex in nature.  Work involves the understanding and application of overall Company policies and guidelines and a wide range of practices and procedures.            

Generally, operates with certain degree of latitude for unreviewed action and independent decision-making.  Work is subject to occasional review.

Accountable for managing operations staffing budget of approximately $500,000. 

Reports: Direct 4 exempt employees

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, finance or related field and minimum 8 -10 years of business experience or in lieu of a Bachelors degree, a minimum of 12-14 years of relevant experience.

  • Familiarity with restructured retail marketplace and Exelon Utilities' retail tariffs, billing and enrollments

  • Strong interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to solve complex problems, make decisions and proactively resolve external counterparty issues

  • Experience representing Company positions in external forums


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Pursuit or completion of MBA

  • Electric utility industry experience preferred
