PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Direct the Gas Corrosion Control, Leak Survey and Regulatory compliance activities for the entire PECO Energy Service Territory. #CD# The position is responsible for a wide range of key performance areas including public and employee safety, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, productivity improvement, financial results and external relations. The position is frequently involved in strategic initiatives with scope well beyond the Operations department.

Note: Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24x7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Accountability

- Provides business direction and ensures regulatory compliance for all gas mains, services, and transmission lines. #CD# #CD# 50

- Provides technical guidance in the design, operation and maintenance of cathodic protection systems. #CD# 10

- Develops strategies for improving both productivity and cost competitiveness while maintaining quality. #CD# #CD# 5

- Develops and tracks program performance vs. plan. #CD# #CD# 5

- Interfaces with and builds credibility with the PUC. #CD# 15

- Routinely leads/participates in projects outside of corrosion group. (e. g. , safety programs, company initiatives). #CD# 15

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum:

- Bachelors degree in engineering

- Ability to identify and recommend strategies/programs to achieve change and improvement.

- Strong planning and organizational skills to handle multiple projects.

- Strong written and oral communication skills.

- Strong leadership, coaching and interpersonal skills.

- Satisfactorily completed courses such as Southern Cross Gas Leak Detection Course, MC - Miller Corrosion Course, and Liberty Bell Corrosion Course.

- Minimum of (5) years related gas experience

- Demonstrated knowledge of Federal and state regulations pertaining to pipeline safety and corrosion/leak survey practices as stated in 49CFR.

Preferred:

-2 or more years of relevant corrosion experience

-2 or more years of first level (or greater) supervisory/management experience

-Must be willing to complete certifications within 3 years.

- Budget: $24M annually



- On the PECO Energy gas distribution system: Manage Corrosion Compliance including 7272 annual periodic readings. ; Manage maintenance and repair of corrosion control systems. ; Manage mobile leak survey of 3000 miles per year. ; Manage service leak survey of 110, 000 per year. ; Known leaks are to be re-surveyed every 180 days to maintain compliance. ; Manage contractors that perform Indoor Gas Meter Leak Survey for 79, 000 customers. ; Manage various regulatory inspections and corrective maintenance task completion including: emergency valve, regulator stations, bridge, and transmission line.
